Page Layout – 3 Slots
The Page Layout – 3 Slots block is available on Default Pages. It adds full-width areas before and after the standard sidebar-and-content layout.
When to Use It
Section titled “When to Use It”Use this layout when a Default Page needs a prominent full-width introduction or closing section while retaining its normal sidebar and main content.
For an ordinary page made entirely of standard-width content, add blocks directly to the editor instead.
The Three Slots
Section titled “The Three Slots”| Slot | Position | Recommended content |
|---|---|---|
| Top | Below the title section, above the sidebar and main content | Hero, Card Grid, Full-width Banner, Key Facts Grid, Warning Message |
| Main | Beside the sidebar | Text, cards, grids, accordions, information lists, and other standard content |
| Bottom | Below the main content, above the footer | Card Grid, Full-width Banner, Warning Message |
Top Slot
Section titled “Top Slot”Use the Top slot for content that should span the page before the main two-column area begins. Multiple supported blocks can be placed here.
Main Slot
Section titled “Main Slot”Use the Main slot for the page’s primary editorial content. Its headings also provide the structure used by the sidebar table of contents.
Bottom Slot
Section titled “Bottom Slot”Use the Bottom slot for a full-width closing section, such as a final group of cards, a banner, or a warning message.
Add the Layout
Section titled “Add the Layout”- Edit a Default Page.
- Insert Page Layout – 3 Slots.
- Add blocks to the Top, Main, and Bottom slots as needed.
- Leave a slot empty when the page does not require that area.
- Preview the page on desktop and mobile before publishing.
Use one Page Layout – 3 Slots container for the page rather than nesting or repeating layout containers.
For the block’s controls and current allowed-block rules, see the Page Layout – 3 Slots block reference.
