Website Setup Checklist
Use this checklist to review the essential settings of a new website after installation, before publishing it.
Initial Setup
Section titled “Initial Setup”- Confirm that the Polimi theme and companion plugin are active.
- Confirm that a page named
Homeexists and is assigned as the website’s homepage. - Confirm that the Polimi blocks are available in the page editor.
Site Branding & Identity
Section titled “Site Branding & Identity”Configure the website’s identity before creating content, as some features and layouts depend on the selected website type.
- Choose the appropriate Website Type.
- Select the affiliated School or Department, where applicable.
- Upload the Lab or Research Group logo, if required.
- Configure the Site Title, optional Navigation Bar Site Title, tagline, and site icon.
Navigation and Appearance
Section titled “Navigation and Appearance”- Configure the Homepage Title Section.
- Populate the
Header Menu,Footer Menu, andCampus Listmenus. - Review the footer information and social media links.
Pages and Content
Section titled “Pages and Content”- Create the main pages required by the website.
- Build the homepage using the available content blocks.
- Add the initial News, Projects, People, Subjects, or other content types as needed.
Final Review
Section titled “Final Review”Before publishing, open the website and check that the branding, navigation, and page layouts appear correctly on both desktop and mobile devices.
