Editor Panels and Sidebar Tools

Besides blocks, the plugin adds editor-side panels and settings that affect the editorial workflow.

Location:

  • page editor sidebar

Panel name:

  • Quick Links (Sidebar)

Purpose:

  • adds manual sidebar links to standard pages

Each item includes:

  • text
  • URL
  • open in new tab toggle

Important notes:

  • this panel appears only when editing a normal page
  • links are rendered by the theme in the page sidebar
  • accepted URL formats include absolute URLs, site-relative paths, and anchor links

The theme provides the authoritative Project details panel. It includes:

  • class
  • class theme
  • year
  • semester
  • students
  • professors
  • tutors
  • academic year
  • course of study
  • an optional linked Subject

Linking a Subject does not replace populated free-text fields. Course, programme, year, and semester can follow the translated Subject dynamically or use a language-specific custom override. Professors remain copied/manual so changes to current teaching assignments do not rewrite historical Project information.

The theme adds a Subject page panel to the Subject editor sidebar. Its Show linked projects toggle controls whether the public Subject page lists published Projects linked directly to that Subject.

Location:

  • Settings -> Polimi Plugin

Available option:

  • allow beta or prerelease plugin updates

This controls whether prerelease plugin versions can be surfaced by the update checker.

The plugin adds a dedicated block inserter category:

  • Polimi CdS Design System

This is where editors will find most of the custom blocks used by the project.
